Edinburg, TX — September 13, 2025 — Emerging filmmaker and composer Joe Steven made a powerful debut at the 11th annual South Texas International Film Festival 2025, taking home the prestigious Edinburg Film Friendly Award for his music video “Remember Me.”
The award recognizes productions filmed within the city, highlighting Edinburg’s commitment to supporting filmmakers and creative projects. Held in Edinburg, the multi-day STXIFF celebrates filmmakers from across the globe through screenings, panels, and its signature awards ceremony, culminating on September 13, 2025.
Joe's first appearance on the festival circuit marked a milestone moment, as he walked his very first red carpet and earned additional recognition with nominations for Best South Texas Cinematography and Best Music Video—further solidifying “Remember Me” as a standout project among regional entries.
