Brownsville, TX – May 8, 2021 — Recording artist and composer, Joe Steven was featured for the second year in a row at the 2021 Boca Chica to Mars Gala for his awe-inspiring album, “Starman: Mission to Mars.” Joe along with other creators and esteemed members of the community joined together on May 1, 2021, to celebrate the incredible progress of the South Texas SpaceX Starship team.

The 2021 Boca Chica to Mars Gala which was co-sponsored by Tesla, was held at the Hicks Livery Barn located in the historic Downtown quarters of Brownsville, Texas. The gallery is home to the Boca Chica to Mars Exhibit and showcases a photographic chronicle of official SpaceX Starship photography from NASA and other talented artists that became available to the public before the start of the pandemic.

“It’s very humbling to be invited back to the SpaceX Boca Chica to Mars Gala for the second time – especially now that the album is available for everyone to listen,” said Joe. “I was quite worried the moment we went into lockdown, because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish the album in time. This is just another instance that proves anything is possible if you dedicate time and hard work into something – much like the incredible accomplishments of the SpaceX Starship team.”

While the Space Exploration company was founded back in 2002 by famed Elon Musk, the company’s initiatives and space rocket launches have become more popularized around the globe as we embark on a new chapter in history for mankind and space exploration.

For those of you who live in the area and haven’t had a chance to visit the exhibit yet, this is the perfect time to do so. With Joe’s Starman album now available to the public, what a better way to experience the true wonder of the exhibit than by listening to the dazzling storyline that is depicted through each melody Joe has composed while walking through the gallery itself.

“My goal for the album was to provide an experience that transports listeners on an interplanetary journey through time and space and leaves them mesmerized while paying tribute to the incredible work that is underway with the SpaceX Starship mission,” Joe added.

Earlier this week, SpaceX launched and successfully landed its futuristic Starship SN15 in South Texas, the same rocketship Elon Musk intends to use to land astronauts on the moon and send people to Mars.

This latest upgraded version of SpaceX’s full-scale, stainless steel, bullet-shaped Starship soared more than 6 miles over the Gulf of Mexico before flipping and descending horizontally, and then going vertical gain in time for touchdown.

Success came on the 60th anniversary of the flight of the first American to space, Alan Shepard.

“It’s truly an exciting time to witness the historic events that are taking place in South Texas,” Joe said. “I’ve had the wonderful privilege of meeting amazing people from the space community in such a short time. I can’t wait to see where we are one year from now.”

Some of the featured artists in the exhibit include LabPadre (Louis Balderas), still photography by Carlos A. Nunez, Maria Pointer, Austin Barnard, Pedro de la Fuente, Daniel Sanchez, and Rachel and Gene Gore (SPadre). The gala also included a silent auction of SpaceX models by AXM Paper Space Scale Models.

A special thank you to Dr. Diane Garza, the Brownsville Community Foundation, for organizing the “Boca Chica to Mars” exhibit that will inspire generations for years to come.
